For over 60 years, NFCC and its member agencies have helped people just like you with their financial questions and concerns.
Debt-relief plans are straightforward and are put into action on your first meeting.
No one is turned away. You always know where you stand and who to call with questions.
Nearly 600 NFCC member agency offices nationwide are staffed by NFCC Certified Financial Counselors.
NFCC and our member agencies are nonprofit organizations. We receive funding and support from various sources.
That funding enables our member agencies to charge nominal fees—and, occasionally, no fees when grants exist—for their services. In other words, when our agencies charge fees, they are restricted to a level that is just high enough to cover our expenses. This structure ensures our services are affordable, and more importantly, it means we do not benefit from your circumstances.
Instead, we provide you with unbiased guidance, keeping our focus on what is best for your situation.
When you call NFCC, you’ll be asked for your ZIP Code, whether you have a preference for phone or in-person counseling, and the type of service you are looking for. With that information, you will be connected to the nonprofit agency of your choice for credit counseling and debt-management services.
Working with an NFCC Certified Financial Counselor has made the difference for millions of consumers. Let us make a difference for you and how you feel about your money management skills.

Debt settlement involves the services of a for-profit lawyer who charges you to arrange a single payoff for an amount lower than what you currently owe. While settling sounds simpler, it has some considerable negatives.
